Annual Report 2024–2025
A Fellow Year in Review

Each year, as winter arrives, the Collegium’s Annual Report provides an opportunity to look back onto the concluded fellow year, reconnect with alumni, reflect on current questions, and cast a view onto what is to come.

As usual, at the heart of this year’s Annual Report is the presentation of the fellows who spent time at the Collegium between September 2024 and June 2025, the projects they worked on and the events they convened while being here, and for some, where they are right now. In addition, the Collegium checked in with five former early-career fellows, to understand what led them to apply for a fellowship in the first place, how their experiences here allowed them to shape their individual paths, and where their trajectories have brought them to.

The report also provided an opportunity to highlight a special project done in collaboration between the Collegium and Theater Neumarkt: The Ministry for the Future, a four-part “science and theater performance” inspired by Kim Stanley Robinson’s climate novel of the same name. In their editorial, Director Sebastian Bonhoeffer and Deputy Director Mario Wimmer reflected on what size means for an institute of advanced study such as the Collegium.

Finally, the report introduced its new fellows, welcomed new members to the advisory board and selection committee, and announced its new partnership with the NOMIS Foundation.
