Massimiano is the author of numerous books published in over twenty countries, among them Science and the Media (1998), Science in Society (2004), Beyond Technocracy (2009), and Newton’s Chicken (2020). He has also published scientific papers in journals such as Nature, Science, and PLOS. In his work, Massimiano moves between the spheres of science and sociology. During his senior fellowship at the Collegium, he explored the role of visible scientists in shaping the public image of science.
Concurrently with his senior fellowship at the Collegium, Massimiano was also the Cattedra De Sanctis Visiting Professor for Italian Literature and Culture at ETH Zurich.
