Venue: Collegium Helveticum, Schmelzbergtrasse 25, 8006 Zurich
The Collegium invites you to a special double exhibition opening that explores how environments—both built and cultural—are shaped, recorded, and remembered.
At the Sonnenturm, Under Construction curated by Reto Geiser, presents the work of four exceptional contemporary photographers, capturing construction sites as fleeting yet revealing stages in the life of the built environment, reflecting the cultural, geographic, and economic forces of their time.
Simultaneously, Colors of Colonial Chemistry by Denise Bertschi unravels the entangled histories of color, science, and colonialism. Through a powerful blend of art, archival materials, and scientific inquiry, the exhibition examines how colonial-era chemistry continues to influence global aesthetics, economies, and power structures today.
