In his lecture, Christian Drosten will take a look back on the COVID-19 pandemic. Drosten is a renowned virologist specializing in emergent viruses and coronaviruses in particular. In January 2020, the Charité Virology (Berlin, DE) led by Drosten developed the world’s first detection method for the Sars-CoV-2 virus. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Drosten became widely recognized as a public expert and advised the German government as a member of the expert council on the coronavirus.
